Job Summary:

The Operations Specialist plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient daily operations of the bank.  This role will have a strong understanding of banking processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.  In this role, you will work closely with various departments to streamline workflows, maintain compliance, and deliver a high level of service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Support:
  Subject Matter Expert in ACH transactions. Collaborate with the Federal Reserve Bank to correct errors or request corrections.  Process overdrafts, return items and correct non-post transactions.  Facilitate wire requests.
• Customer Service:
  Complete customer requests for stop pays, returns and account transfers.  Research customer transactions and correct if applicable.
• Financial Operations Support:
  Balance teller reports daily for all five (5) branches.  Reconcile internal deposit accounts and general ledger accounts as assigned.
• Compliance:
  Review new deposit accounts to ensure compliance with bank policy.  Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.  Timely process account verification requests for SSI inquiries and other third parties as applicable.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  Work closely with other departments to ensure successful execution of daily operations. Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Other Duties as assigned by Executive Management

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of financial institution experience requested
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform simple calculations.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

Work Environment:

This role is typically conducted within a bank office environment, with standard working hours. The position may require occasional extended hours to meet deadlines or during peak processing periods.
