Staff Accountant
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will support the bank’s accounting department by assisting with financial reporting, accounts payable processing, general ledger maintenance, coordination of wire transactions, and account reconciliations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank's financial records, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. • Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including cash, loans, deposits, and other accounts as assigned. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. • Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. • Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with financial regulations, including those from the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and other relevant regulatory bodies. Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries. • Accounts Payable Processing: Review and process vendor invoices for payment, ensuring proper coding and approval. Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely and accurate manner via check or ACH. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. • Expense Tracking and Reporting: Review and process expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to the bank’s policies and procedures. • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data and resolve any issues related to accounting matters. Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. • Other Duties as assigned by Executive Management
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar field preferred • 2+ years of accounting experience requested • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform complex calculations and create detailed financial reports.

Work Environment:
This role is typically conducted within a bank office environment, with standard working hours. The position may require occasional extended hours to meet deadlines or during peak processing periods.
